Jamie Louks is a Seattle based cake artist, pastry and sugar art instructor, and owner of Sugarnova. She carved a name for herself among the high caliber artists of the Pacific Northwest with her flare for quirky, unpredictable cakes and a meticulous demand for perfection in design and execution.
Jamie's intense love affair with sugar began with her very first job at Baskin Robbins. This sweet occupation inspired her to attend Johnson & Wales University where she received her Bachelor's of Science in Baking and Pastry Arts. She has an obsessive urge to perfect every recipe and believes desserts should taste even more amazing than they look. (And that's a high bar with how amazing her desserts look!) Jamie has worked in some of Seattle's finest cake and dessert shops, including Kaysie Lackey's The People's Cake, before taking her own business full-time.
